Election plans
in an attention
grabbing fashion

Alternativet (Danish political party) wanted to generate attention in 2019’s election. It all started with their idea of having a magazine where the party could share their members’ backstory, values and the programme they wanted to succeed with. Apart from the text, images and predetermined graphical assets, I had significant creative freedom to shape the design and layout as I saw fit. It resulted in a magazine that conveyed their whole profile of being “alternative” but still getting their point across. The magazine was distributed in the Zealand area with potential for exposure in the election period.

Front page

The cover illustrates an overview of the different members belonging to the party and what counties they have representation in. Furthermore, the layout is framed with geometrical shapes to create the visual hierarchy and guide the eye.

Midsection #1

In order to make the content digestible and pleasant to read it had to be organized and framed in sections. Elements from Alternativet’s design and my own assets were used to create before mentioned frames, so the viewer can easily navigate the different text sections.

Midsection #2

This section was heavy in written content therefore managing the white space played a big role in making the section legible and pleasant to look at.

Backside

The backside of the magazine had the purpose of showing the values of the party. In order to keep the audience engaged through until the end, visual representations were used to illustrate the principles of the party.
